Trust Without Boarders

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord,

whose confidence is in him.

They will be like a tree planted by the water

that sends out its roots by the stream.

It does not fear when heat comes;

its leaves are always green.

It has no worries in a year of drought

and never fails to bear fruit.”

– Jeremiah 17:7-8

Trust.

This is a word that evokes emotion in each of us in some way. Maybe it has a positive connotation, or maybe trust has been violated in your life and even the word stings your heart.

Regardless of what our experiences are in life when it comes to trust, God calls each of us to trust Him. Many times this trust is required without any guarantee of what will happen in the future. It becomes the reality of putting one foot in front of the other blindfolded and holding onto the hand of our Father! This can undeniably be a trying experience, one that stretches us to limits we didn’t know we had.

However, throughout scripture we see the promise of God. Reading Jeremiah 17:7-8 it is clear that those who trust in the Lord will be blessed and will be like a tree planted by water with roots by the stream. Take a moment to think of a tree. They are strong, sturdy, providing shade, and when a tree’s roots run deep, they cannot be uprooted or shaken easily!

This analogy we read about trust is a powerful example of the blessing God wants to pour out on us as we trust Him without hesitation.

Maybe you are hesitant. That is okay too! What matters is what you do with that uncertainty! Do not let it define your life. Don’t let it define who you are and keep you from jumping into a fully trusting relationship with God. Express your reluctance to Him and be completely honest with Him! He desires for you to share your heart with Him. This alone is an act of trust, as you put your faith in a God you cannot tangibly see. Take hope in the journey and know that God is good Father. He knows your limits and He knows your heart.

As you follow Him, trust the God of the Universe who created you! He knows us better than we know ourselves and His leading far surpasses any plans we can make ourselves.

“Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,

for I have put my trust in you.

Show me the way I should go,

for to you I entrust my life.”

-Psalm 143:8

Each morning when we wake up, we have the opportunity to turn to Jesus and invite Him into our day.

This may look like having conversations with Him as you get ready, go to work, pursue your dreams, or take care of your children. This may look like taking a step you are afraid to take in your life that God is prompting you to take. Whatever it may be, we encourage you to dive in and don’t look back!

When the Lord laid orphans on our hearts we were excited to see what His plans would be in the coming future. As we were faithful to trust Him, He has unfailingly proven His love and blessing to us and to these precious children. We now have the opportunity to build and grow the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth through giving hope to children around the world.

This was all because of trust. Something in each of us wants to trust and free-fall into the call God has on our lives. We are living proof and our desire is to inspire and encourage you to do the same!

Trust!
