How You’re Helping Mothers In Need Around The World

Hope For Mother’s Around The World:

Mothers around the world are facing a range of obstacles in their efforts to provide for their children, from poverty and lack of access to healthcare to natural disasters and cultural norms. Despite these challenges, many mothers are demonstrating remarkable resilience and resourcefulness in their caregiving roles.

Our partners are providing crucial support to these mothers and their families by funding programs that provide access to healthcare, education, and other resources that can help break the cycle of poverty and support child development. By empowering mothers and families, these efforts are helping to create a brighter future for children and communities around the world.

Mothers in Nepal face a multitude of challenges that can make parenting a difficult and overwhelming task. Firstly, maternal health is a major concern, with many mothers lacking access to adequate healthcare and facing high rates of maternal mortality. Additionally, poverty and limited educational opportunities can make it difficult for mothers to provide for their children’s basic needs, such as food, shelter, and education.

Gender inequality and traditional cultural norms can also restrict women’s decision-making power, making it challenging for mothers to make choices about their own health and that of their children. Finally, natural disasters, such as earthquakes and floods, can compound these difficulties by destroying homes and disrupting communities, leaving mothers and their families vulnerable to displacement and trauma.

Despite these challenges, many Nepalese mothers demonstrate resilience and resourcefulness, working tirelessly to provide for their families and support their children’s growth and development. Our Sewing School in Kawasoti, Nepal has been able to help hundreds of women, who once had no hope and no source of income to provide for their families, not only provide for their children, but thrive as they now confidently run their own sustainable sewing businesses.

About 3,600+ miles away, Albanian mothers face similar obstacles. Poverty is a significant issue in Albania, and many families struggle to provide for their basic needs.

Blood feuds in Albania are a long-standing tradition of revenge that has plagued the country for centuries. In these feuds, families seek revenge for a wrong committed against them, often resulting in a cycle of violence and revenge that can last for generations.

Mothers in poverty in Albania are particularly vulnerable to the effects of blood feuds. These feuds can result in the death or injury of male family members, leaving women and children vulnerable and without protection. As a result, women often have limited mobility, are forced to remain inside their homes for safety reasons, and may be cut off from their community and support systems. In addition, women and children may be targeted in these feuds as a way to inflict maximum damage on their families.

Blood feuds can have a devastating impact on families, particularly those who are already marginalized and impoverished, as they can disrupt their ability to earn a living, attend school, or access basic services such as healthcare.

Expect Hope’s Albania Hope Houses are not just a shelter for the children to feel safe, but a place to let their guard down and enjoy childhood while also receiving the food, clothing, shelter, access to healthcare, and love they desperately need.
