Child Trafficking Awareness

Understanding Child Trafficking, And How It Ends

Millions of children are bought, sold, and exploited around the world right now. Knowing the truth is the first step toward stopping it, and you are in the right place to start.

The Reality

What Child Trafficking Actually Is

Child trafficking means using a child for profit through force, fraud, or coercion. It takes the form of sex slavery, forced labor, forced begging, and other kinds of exploitation that strip a child of safety and choice. Traffickers target the most vulnerable children first, especially those living in extreme poverty without anyone to protect them.

This is not a problem that stays far away from home. The same networks that exploit children overseas reach into communities everywhere, which is why the fight has to happen where children are most at risk. Expect Hope works on the frontlines in the places where trafficking is the worst in the world.

Recognize It

Know The Signs That Can Save A Child

Most people never recognize trafficking when it is right in front of them. Learning a few common warning signs helps ordinary people protect children who cannot protect themselves.

  • A child who is not enrolled in school or who suddenly stops attending
  • A child who appears malnourished, fearful, or unusually withdrawn
  • A child who is rarely allowed to speak for themselves or move freely
  • A child who shows signs of physical abuse or is closely controlled by an adult
  • A child who works long hours and never seems to keep what they earn

If something feels wrong, it is always worth paying attention and reporting it to local authorities or a trafficking hotline in your country.

By The Numbers

The Numbers Are Staggering, And They Are Real

28M

138M

54M
children in hazardous work

Child labor has nearly halved since the year 2000, which proves this crisis can be pushed back when people refuse to look away.

Our Response

We Take A Child From The Streets To Their Destiny

Expect Hope Worldwide rescues children from human trafficking, sex slavery, child labor, and extreme poverty, and then we walk with them all the way to transformation. We operate sustainably in four nations, and we have already seen more than 2,000 children rescued and restored.

Every rescued child receives the Big 5: Food, Clothes, Shelter, Access to Healthcare, and most importantly, Love. We are embedded for the long term, because real restoration takes far more than a short visit.
